Laureus Sport for Good
The Laureus Sport for Good Foundation funds and promotes initiatives worldwide that use the power of sport to tackle pressing social issues. From the ability to overcome the battle against crime and drugs, to break down the barriers of war-torn nations and regenerate forgotten communities, sport stands alone as a universal language that can be used in the education of all.
Sport can offer many personal benefits to each individual who participates, such as the sense of purpose and self-worth that comes from competition, or the feeling of responsibility from training and allegiance to a team. Sport can also be used as a tool to initiate social change. It is a way of encouraging people to participate in sport whilst simultaneously tackling the pressing social issue at hand. Such is the appeal of sport that large numbers of people can be reached and helped to change their lives for the better.
The Laureus Sport for Good Foundation supports a wide range of projects around the world, benefiting more than 140,000 children and young people. To learn more about the projects, click here.
